Skills For The Future

Everyone is worried about the economy these days.  People are wondering whether they have the skills that are going to make it in the next few decades.  People doing manual labor are wondering whether they will get replaced by cheaper labor or by machines/robots.  These are all things that I would personally be worried about, but at the same time there is good news.  You can teach yourself amazingly valuable new skills that will make you very competitive going forward in the economy of the future.

What skills am I talking about?  Mainly, I am talking about digital skills like web design.  There's plenty of other skills that are extremely valuable that you can teach yourself.  There are skills like SEO and learning how to run PPC ads that people and companies find to be very valuable.

How expensive is it to learn these skills?  It is not very expensive at all actually.  You can learn a lot of this stuff for free.  There's tons of free resources out there.  If you wanted to learn web design, for example, you could learn it and become very adept for free.

How long does it take to learn these new skills?  Well, it doesn't take too much time and it certainly depends on the skills in question.  I would say that for something like web design, you could learn to become really good within 6 months.  You could teach this all to yourself just by looking at free or very cheap resources on the web.  It's certainly an exciting time and you shouldn't be dismayed but instead be encouraged at all the things that you could learn.  If you are an ambitious person, you can become really valuable in the workplace.
